The Senior Manufacturing Scientist for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics takes ownership of identifying and resolving sophisticated technical issues with current products or qualifies improvements to existing or modified product configurations. This position is an integral part of supporting the diagnostic reagent production operations team and will be located in Carlsbad, CA. This role is a "hands on" technical position where extensive knowledge and experience with the following is ideal: If you thrive in a multifunctional, fast-paced role and want to work to build a world-class organizationread on! In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Apply analytical skills and independent judgment to develop innovative, practical and consistent solutions to production processes and systems aimed at performance, quality and costs. Develop SOPs and updates existing process and product documentation, as needed, in a timely manner. Focus on key deliverables and priority projects, acting as a hands-on resource where needed at the discretion of the manager to ensure on-time delivery of a high-quality product. Uses standard methodologies and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services. Solve a range of problems. Identify new points of view using existing solutions. Investigate and disposition product nonconformances in conjunction with Quality, and Development team members. Works independently, receives minimal guidance.
The essential requirements of the job include: 5+ years of industrial experience with a Bachelors degree, or 3+ years of experience with an MS degree, or a Ph.D. degree in the areas of chemistry, biochemistry biotechnology, molecular biology or equivalent. Experience in an FDA regulated environment
