Marketing Strategy Manager - Consumer Card Acquisition
In this marketing role you will apply knowledge of customer/client behavior, analytics, product, client and competitive insights to develop holistic marketing strategies and programs to attract, and acquire new clients for Truist. Create go-to market strategies that will drive near and long term demand and maximize revenue.

This role will lead card and payment acquisition marketing; defining client acquisition and early month on book engagement management; marketing strategies and roadmap for acquisition, defining and driving demand generation and fueling new account growth for the Truist card and payment portfolios. Success will require collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization to gain buy-in, and close partnership with the Marketing program development and implementation teams to deliver envisioned strategies to the marketplace; ensure alignment of all strategies to the Truist Purpose and Brand. This is a highly visible role, which offers significant opportunity for innovation, creativity, and leadership. You must be a data-driven strategic thought leader, a motivated self-starter, an effective communicator, and have excellent relationship-building skills, with a passion for driving acquisition and engagement to meet business goals.
  • Lead with an external perspective and customer first mindset: You will maintain an understanding of current and future state of card lending to anticipate, identify and act upon opportunities driven by customer trends, regulation, or competitors. You will have a strong customer-first approach, able to understand customer needs, and ensure they influence our future strategies.
  • Leverage data and insights to deliver impactful marketing strategy and continuously optimize the product marketing through research with clients, program results and best-in-class learnings inside and outside of our category
  • Develop marketing strategies intended to achieve operational and financial results using all marketing channels with an emphasis on digital.
  • Consult with Program Development and Orchestration teams to translate defined strategies into programs and campaigns. Ensure program constructs are crafted in a way to ensure ability to extract detailed results to confirm/refine strategies.
  • Lead highly complex and visible projects with notable risk and complexity while managing deliverables for the team against expected results.
  • Communicate, build, and manage relationships: You will have a passion for building strong working relationships across regional and internal partners (product, marketing, risk, insights, servicing, technology, legal, line of business) to support market growth plans. You’re able articulate to colleagues at all levels on the strategic direction, progress on execution, and results.
  • Collaborate with analytics and channel marketing teams to maximize the value of acquisition programs; Consult to recommend channel/ distribution strategy, including appropriate mix of owned digital channels, digital campaigns, direct mail, etc.
  • Identify and resolve technical, operational, risk management, business, and organizational challenges.
  • Make leadership decisions within established policies, procedures, and established objectives.
  • Monitor client needs and competitive market place, and provides ongoing marketing support that ensures the competitiveness of offered products and services.
  • Directly impact the achievement of client, operational, project, service, and risk management objectives.
  • Work independently, with guidance in only the most complex and unusual situations.
  • Define annual plans and budgets.
  • Typically manage a team of professional-level contributors and/or large-scale programs. This role may be an individual contributor role that has strategic influence (complex long-term planning of business initiatives and outcomes) on a large part of Truist's organization, typically a LOB or a segment.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent education and related training
  • In-depth knowledge and expertise of principles, practices, theories, and/or methodologies associated with the Marketing discipline (e.g., Marketing P’s, Market research, analytics, digital)
  • Eight to twelve years of consumer credit card or payment product marketing experience
  • Seven to ten years of digital acquisition marketing; Proven expertise in leveraging digital marketing channels to drive business growth
  • Knowledge of client needs and competitive landscape and the factors that differentiate Truist and its competitors in the market
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and project managing marketing campaigns working across various partners in deliver of programs.
  • Analytical skill, with an ability to get into the data and draw practical conclusions and insights
  • Demonstrated ability to “make things happen” (e.g. can execute and get things done)
  • Strong partnership and collaborative style with outstanding communication skills: written, verbal and presentation
  • Ability to thrive in a fluid environment with managing multiple priorities
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Creative and innovative
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex information to a range of audiences and build consensus among different stakeholders
  • Fluent in Excel and PowerPoint, preparing presentations for senior level teammates

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or Master's degree in related field
  • Twelve to fifteen years of related experience
  • Previous experience in financial services, retail or packaged goods industries
  • Proven expertise in creating and executing direct marketing campaigns
