How will you make an impact? The Engineer III, Technical Sourcing - Filtration engages the technical aspect of our plastics supply base. They will lead alternate sourcing projects with our 3rd party supply base, product scale-up, resolve quality issues and participate in cost savings initiatives.
What will you do?
As part of the technical sourcing engineering team, you'll closely with R&D, quality, procurement, and commodity managers to align the global sourcing strategy and supply base to drive new product introduction, manufacturing scale-up, and resolve supplier quality issues. Leads in the procurement and validation of new capital equipment placed at 3rd party contract manufacturers. Primarily focused on filters and frits. We seek a highly motivated individual to fill our Engineering III position. This person will be responsible for all technical aspects of the supply chain and would include continuous improvement efforts of our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter and be proficient in filter media, test, and their applications as well as an expert in filtration media.
How will you get here? Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Plastics, Industrial Technology, or Materials Science desired.
Experience: - 5-8+ years of hands-on product design, new product development, tooling, and manufacturing experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: - Lead and collaborate with business R&D project managers to coordinate the development, design, coordination, implementation, analysis, reporting, and maintenance of R&D project plans, including business case development, scoping, resourcing, and lessons learned.
- Filtration specification, processing, performance and procurement of media.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, Pro/e, or equivalent
- Knowledge of SAP and or Agile
- Value engineering and process development
- Ability to work within a highly matrixed organization (Internal)
- Hard-working, results oriented, and motivated to work effectively without direct supervision
- Advanced technical writing skills to produce reports and documents
- Working knowledge of molecular biology, chemistry, and/or biology preferred.
- Travel - Up to 10% locally and regionally
