At Microbial Manufacturing Services (MMS), a new Business Unit within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Pharma Services Group, we deliver, from process development through commercial supply, the expertise and resources vital to help clients deliver innovative plasmid-based therapeutics as critical raw materials, drug substances, and drug products. Placed in the forefront of our leading- and cutting-edge Cell and Gene Therapy businesses enabling clients to cure genetic, rare, and otherwise untreatable diseases as their CDMO of choice. How will you make an impact? This role will be part of the Supply Chain supporting Pharma Services MMS Business and will have a primary focus on ensuring an organized, cGMP warehouse that provides excellent inventory control and material management to the Carlsbad site. What will you do? Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and accurately process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements. Sustain a high level of quality to ensure customers receive accurate product and in the time requested. Supervising and completing the inventory and warehouse management process for raw materials, packaging and finished goods Receives materials along with supplies and equipment by verifying documentation is complete and accurate. Processes receipts into ERP database and moves material to designated areas. Handle materials with attention to detail. Unpack, label, and put inventory items into stockroom locations. Package items for shipment and internal manufacturing lines. Print postage, and ship through FedEx and UPS. Scheduling Freight shipments. Perform shipping/receiving/finished goods transactions. Perform weekly cycle counts and other inventory control initiatives. Lead all aspects of shipping and receiving dock. Develops positive relationships with internal departments, external customers, and suppliers. Assures compliance with customs, export, applicable foreign trade/importation laws, as well as applicable federal transport regulations. Safely operate distribution equipment as required. Complete Thermo Fisher Scientific training requirements and operate within all ISO standards pertaining to site Distribution including, but not limited to, Control of Documents and Quality Policy.
How will you get here? Education: Experience: Requires a minimum of 2 to 3+ years related experience. Experience in logistics with a life science company preferred. Ability to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures, instructions, and to meet schedules required. Able to operate powered industrial trucks. Need basic digital literacy to navigate ERP systems, Outlook and shipping software in order to support the operation in its daily functions. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. May occasionally sit, kneel, and crouch. Must be available to work any shift (with advance notice of shift change). Must be flexible to work varying schedules, hours, and overtime as needed.
