Nurse Graduate, Emergency Department, Mid-Shift (11a-11p)
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR POSITION TITLE:. Manager, Nursing and/or Nursing Supervisor SUMMARY: Functioning under direct supervision of a registered RN, the Nursing Graduate is the beginning practitioner with a basic generic nursing education background. This level clinician utilizes the nursing process in providing patient care and patient/family teaching. The practitioner in this position cares for selected patients and participates as a member of the health care team. Patients served may include neonate through adult-geriatric. The Nursing Graduate shall practice only under the direct supervision of a nurse who is physically present on the unit to cosign medication transcription, medication administration and nursing documentation; and continually observe, assist, coordinate, evaluate, and monitor the nursing graduate. The nursing graduate must also use the initials “NG” after their name as credentials. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This job has no supervisory responsibility.
