The most important lesson I am passing on is the knowledge of self worth outside of race. I just watched a special on Mahala Jackson and she embodied this through jim crow. Strong black woman who never used her dark skin tone, or heavy hips, large nose, tightly curled/pressed hair as an excuse to not live her life as best she could during the times. She paved the way for Michael Jackson. She had black and white folk fainting, dancing and praising long before we had the right to drink out any water fountain, sit in the front of the bus and etc.

The essence of my book is that if we are going to become post racial ,Blacks and Whites in America are going to have to tap a deep spiritual chord within and coming from that place of spirituality begin to rethink our relationships. My premise is that our emotions, Black and White , are so charged we cannot move. It is the power of spirituality that can lift us to a new place and that is a place we can deal with issues of race. One day, in this country, if we are able to transform our consciousness we will expect to, want to and actually see heaven in the face of Black men. It is possible, it is my hope and what I intend to work for!

Tod I totally AGREE! That is basically my theme and prayer for the outcome of a reader's feelings after finishing the self-directed exercises at the end of the book! I believe that "when we KNOW better we shall DO better!" As I have researched slave records in my ancestral town's courthouse it is AMAZING how little knowledge I began my life journey. So many lessons could have been imparted through SHARING...the pain and the blessings. So rather than critize...I chose to organize the facts into lessons for my future generations.

Sisterly love,

Joan

Crystal and Earl, I agree with your sentiments as well. As I reflected through my research and self-exploration I truly believe that " a caboose cannot move a train out of the station". We as a human race must learn to work better together in STRENGTH vs. WEAKNESS.

Hello to all,

Let me politely say this to all of you heavy hitters of intelligence. Whatever books you read or written, if it does not speak of the sovereignty or complete independence of Black Americans on a portion of this continent, you have written nothing any better from authors of our past, perhaps beginning with Mr. Frederick Douglass.

We are a people that suffer from posttraumatic slavery syndrome disorders. I can see this in the way you all expresses yourselves. For instance, Mr. Ewing said this, “,Blacks and Whites in America are going to have to tap a deep spiritual chord within….”

Mr. Ewing cannot go any where for himself without taking Whites along. He cannot live unless he has Whites with him. This is indicative psychologically speaking of posttraumatic slavery syndrome disorder. It is indicative of the Stockholm syndrome disorder as well. Let me add this, the board of psychology as a legitimate research study has accepted posttraumatic slavery syndrome (PTSS) disorders. It is something that Congressman John Conyers has been trying to get Congress to appropriate money to study the effects of slavery.

Anyway, you people do not know what you are talking about if your books do not promote or advocate the sovereignty or complete independence of Black Americans who are descendents of slaves, and then you are out of touch.

Black Americans must brave the natural obstacles that nature hurls at every sovereign people and country, which is a natural part of growth for a race of people. This experience we must naturally acquire to become civilized people. Would you believe that Black educators with Ph.D. degrees most are not wise people?

Now, Joan said this, “We as a human race must learn to work better together in STRENGTH vs. WEAKNESS.”

Let me explain this to you Joan, the human race is made up of many different races. The purpose of the different races is to be competitive with each other in a positive way. For instance, each race is supposed to study to advance and improve themselves and what they come up with perhaps in medicine they will help a race that is in need. When humanity should come together is when the problem concerns the planet, as global warming.

What say you?

I say Harry that we all have different gifts and MY book MAY NOT BE FOR U...I have a chapter on that issue. I came to very different conclusions living my life than U...many while returning back from my summer long venture while working South Africa. Did U know that ALL people are descendants from Ethiopia? Is a race truly a race or is it a control mechanism to divide and conquer?

Today I found the WILL document dated June 13, 1864 which my ancestor's slave owner provided over 100 acres of land. MOST of the property is still in the family which is what I am teaching my children TODAY to value, protect and further develop for THEIR offspring. I tell them they can LIVE anywhere in this world..but THEY MUST ALWAYS OWN THIS LAND!!!!! Just as it was taught to me, my dad, his dad and HIS dad (original deed recipient)

Hello Joan,

The condition Black Americans are in overshadows your gifts. Black Americans condition requires only God’s gift of our own prophet that would lead us into sovereignty or complete independence from White America on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders to pursue life, liberty, happiness and prosperity and our own way.

Likewise, I am sure in the days of Moses there were Hebrews as your self that had gifts. However, these gifts were not sufficient to take the Hebrew people out of bondage. The Hebrew people needed a blessing rather than a gift and God blessed them with their Prophet Moses who led them out of Egypt. You know the story of the Exodus, do you not?

Your research and travels in Africa no doubt was interesting and adventurous. However, Black Americans who are descendents of slaves are not Africans people. Black Americans are a new breed or race of people that has emerged out of the ashes of slavery. The race of Black Americans is about 500 years old. Therefore, what ever is in Africa has nothing to do with Black Americans.

Now, this is how Black Americans came into existence. The slave traders brought many different kinds of African women from Africa. These women were sold to White American men, mostly of British descent that I will refer to as the old slave master. The slave masters bred themselves with these African slave women to increase the slave population and for pleasure. In the days of slavery, it was forbidden that a virgin slave would lose her virginity to none other than a White man. Okay, this breeding process began in the 15th century and ended in the 18th century. The people that resulted from this breeding process are who Black Americans are today as descendents of slaves.

An example of what I am talking about is the relationship of President Thomas Jefferson and his slave woman Ms. Sally Hemming. This woman bore Thomas Jefferson several children. These children are indicative of Black Americans who are descendents of slaves. In addition, the famous author the late Alex Haley’s family is another example of who we are as Black Americans who are descendents of slaves, since White men fathered some of his relatives.

I said all that to make a very sharp point to you, Mr. Jones. Black Americans are not African people neither do we have any ties to Africa. We are a made people on this continent of North America. We are neither Caucasian nor African people.

If Ms. Irma feels our heritage is in Africa. Then, it is also in England. In other words, since the African slave woman was our mother then the White English man was our father as well. However, as I said we are neither African nor Caucasian. We are a new breed or race of people that has emerged out of the ashes of slavery. Do you understand me?

There are many advantages we have as being a new race of people that is for another discussion.

Anyhow, we are going to become a sovereign people as I say.

Tell me what you think.

Hello Mr. Joan,

Mr. Joan I do not think that you understand the point that I am making. I am not disputing whether all people emerge from Africa. I believe that God created one kind of people and they were dark skinned people because of their dominant genes. I also believe that through evolution all other people evolved. Now, I could see for myself, scientifically speaking that there are different people, racially speaking in this world. I am sure you see the same as well, am I correct. In other words, it is not rational for me to override the fact that Black Americans are genetically a different people from White Americans simply because we all came out of Africa. You can rationalize better than that, Mr. Joan.

Now, let me explain to you what the Bible is. The Bible is the Jewish people’s testimony to the world of how God has helped them in their times of trouble with other races and helped them personally as well. For instance, it is the Jewish people’s testimony of how God helped them in their troubles with the Egyptian people when they were in bondage in Egypt. In addition, it is the Jewish people’s testimony that when God gave Moses the 10 Commandments that was a personal helping. Black Americans’ religious book is forthcoming since we presently have our prophet from God.

Now, the book of Genesis concerning the story of creation is the best account of creation I have ever read because it is rational. Nevertheless, it is just a story. Think of it this way; imagine a wise uncle being bombarded with questions from his nephew to explain what is responsible for all that, the nephew sees, as animals, human beings, trees and oceans.

Lastly, let us not forget that Black Americans who are descendents of slaves are a new breed or race of people that has emerged out of the ashes of slavery. In addition, our only permanent solution ever to be real people in this world is to become a sovereign people or have complete independence from White America on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders to pursue life, liberty, happiness and prosperity in our own way. Only God and God’s chosen prophet for us could make this happen, not books, and gifts that you promote. Do you think that I have a point?

Tell me what you think.

Hello Irma,

Let me update you. The reason I consider you an ignorant woman is that you do not make a rational case for your point. For instance, this is what you said, “Logic is so correct when it states that those who will not step into the shoes of others in order to see things from their view point have only their own ignoracne to go by.(smile)”

Now, why should I step in your shoes to see your point of view? If you have, a point of view to present, present it scientifically and rationally. You are implying something personal. I am not interested in your personal feelings. I am interested in something rational and scientific.

Since all that you have are personal feelings to present, you should go and take a seat in the back and observe the big boys in dialogue because I do not want to wear your shoes.

In addition, please take no offense of my straightforward comment. However, I will listen to anything rational that you have to say and believe me it must be factual and not an opinion.

Sister Joan, what an excellent post, however, it seems as though Harry is still constipated with the idea that he is God and that it is his way or the highway. I don't see how someone could blindly follow someone who has made so many predictions that failed to bare fruit. Harry is no different then the modern day weather man (LOL).

1) Harry are ALL people who are BLACK in THIS country descendants of slaves? At what point did the CLOCK begin to calculate the relevancy of their arrival to the US? There are more than 3,000,000 blacks "self identified" as blacks in the last Census Count who were NOT born in the U.S. If those individuals chose to procreate with other people born in the U.S. at what year should they be included or excluded from the invitation to live in a sovereign location? Is it by specific invitation to accept a certain creed or doctrine or must people prove their slave ancestry? In other words is this defined NEW RACE visible or invisible in its identifiable status?

2) Is the ability to pursue life, liberty and happiness dicated by a seperate nation? Have U travelled to Liberia yet? How did U enjoy it? Do U support businesses or individuals who are using their gifts there?

3) Why does MY book have to be an either or proposition for U and YOUR LIFE? Can't folks walk and chew gum at the same time? If a book causes one to STOP, LOOK and LISTEN...in my opinion...THAT'S A DANG ON GOOD GIFT TO GET!

Hello Ms. Joan,

I apologize for the gender mix-up.

You asked this question, “Mr. Harry, do U believe that RACE is a STATIC or a FLUID concept?”

I believe that race is a static concept since what my race is today it will be that tomorrow unless it disappears. I do not believe that race changes as running fluid.

Do you dispute that we are not a new breed or race of people that has emerged out of the ashes of slavery? Do you believe that Black Americans who are descendents of slaves were not made from the union of the many different kinds of African slave women and White men mostly of British descent? I am obliged to hear and respond to anything contrary to the things I say.

I take an exception to Mr. Satchel Paige. In other words, the task that God has anointed me for I am wiser than all Black Americans and my White adversaries as well. I would naturally have to be since I will lead Black Americans into sovereignty or have complete independence from White America on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders. Now, my opposition on both sides of the aisle I expect to be as many as the sand on the beach, if you will. I have the obligation to answer all questions put to me by those who are in doubt or feels that they are wiser than I am.

The concept of sovereignty is our only permanent solution that will make Black Americans a real people in this world. God inspired me with the concept and constantly inspires me. Most Black Americans are oblivious to the significance of being a sovereign people and perhaps you are one of those Black Americans.

You asked this question as well, “Does it change depending on WHO is in the minority or majority status? Is it a visible or invisible status?”

No, what I am and Black Americans are does not depend on who is in the minority or majority status. I came for my people. The second question about being invisible or visible, Black Americans status is very visible. I answered your question, as I understood it.

I will answer the rest of your questions in another post; I do not like to write lengthy posts.

Tell me what you think.

Harry. Please help me understand how something that is STATIC changes to become NEW. I can't comprehend how something can be BOTH STATIC AND SUBJECT TO A NEW STATUS at the same time in history.

How does one define this NEW status? Is it simply being born in the USA and at what date does this NEW status begin?

Do U currently own land to begin this sovereign location? I just taught a class today on the bloodshed required for the Louisana Purchase to occur. Had it not been for A BLACK SLAVE (http://www.historywiz.com/toussaint.htm) then Napoleon would have probably thought twice about SELLING his stake so cheap $.13 per acre to good ole Thomas Jefferson regardless of how many black "children" him and Sally produced as NEW BREED BLACK FOLKS...it took more than a few written words to free HAITI.

So that being said...I think if GOD is directing your path it appears ODD that HE is asking U to DO in the name of DIVISION of a people that HE has chosen to integrate? God tells me DIRECTLY to keep U IN PRAYER as U pursue YOUR PURPSOSE. Cause I's already FREE.

Hello Ms. Joan,

Please let me say this to you, my intentions are to be understood rather than to be dragged into a moot argument.

Now, this is my case, I said Black Americans who are descendents of slaves only permanent solution ever to become real people in this world, they must become a sovereign people. Or, have complete independence from White America on a portion of this continent that they could call their very own country with borders to pursue life, liberty, happiness and prosperity in their own way.

In support of my concept of sovereignty for Black Americans, I made it clear that White Americans owns the real estate of this country as well as Black Americans. I said that White America owns the real estate of this country as Chinese people owns the real estate of China or the French people owns the real estate of France. I said that White Americans today legally owns Black Americans since their forefathers purchased from the slave traders the ancestors of Black Americans with real English money (pounds and shillings).

In addition, still today White Americans readily admits that they practice racism against Blacks.

Also, the predicament of Black Americans in White America has nothing to do with Haiti. You also missed the point about the children Ms. Sally Hemming had for President Jefferson. Again, Ms. Joan, I am not interested in a fruitless dispute. I make it my business to understand without prejudice what you are trying to say to me and I want you to do the same for me, which will benefit the both of us.

Now, it baffles me that any of you would say that you are free or question my motives to make Black Americans sovereign people or have complete independence on a portion of this continent.

You, Ms. Joan and Ms. Irma are suffering from disorders related to the Stockholm syndrome, psychologically. You two are also suffering from disorders related to Posttraumatic Slavery Syndrome (PTSS) as well. The board of psychology have recognized an accredited these two disorders.

What I expect from you Ms. Joan is that if I am wrong about what I said above please show me. In other words, if you disagree with my concept of sovereignty as a permanent solution to the problems of Black Americans and you have something better, please present it.

Again, Ms. Joan, I am interested in an intelligently meaningful exchange with you wherein legitimate questions could be posed, rational answers given and thoughtful comments made all in an effort to avert argument and stupidity. It has been my experience that Negroes will argue about anything and they have a knack to complicate things because they see everything complicated.

What say you?

Hello Ms. Joan,

Let me make two quick points. Firstly, you said this, “Harry, if I U were to go back and reread this entire discussion I think U could probably surmise why I am FREE“.

Please take no offense, but if I was communicating with an intelligently goodwill person it would not be necessary for me to surmise why you think that you are free. You could definitively show me how you are free. Since you are not able to do so, you asked me to surmise for you. Consequentially, you are playing games.

Your type of thinking is typical of the average Negro. Typical Negroes have slave or colonial mentalities. White America educates all Black Americans today and our enslaved ancestors. Therefore, the type of mentality our ancestors were educated with was naturally passed down to us and slaves were not educated to be intelligent people. Does this make any fundamental sense to you, Ms. Joan?

Secondly, you said this, “As a FREE soul I don't deal with OPPRESSORS. I don't have THAT kind of time. If I died tonight in my sleep there is NOTHING U and YOUR SOVEREIGNTY PERMANENT SOLUTION is gonna do for my soul.”

This comment is typical of the Stockholm syndrome disorder. This is when the victim (slaves) after being associated with the victimizer (White America) for a while identifies with the victimizer (White America) as their friend or savior. White America will readily say that racism is practiced against Black Americans and Black Americans because of a psychological damage mind cannot select out the oppressor from sovereign freedom. Now, if we were intelligent people, which we are not we would be scrambling to leave when God sends us a prophet who would lead us out of our horrendous past and the racism of today to sovereignty or complete independence on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders.

The Hebrew people were the same way as you are presently, Ms. Joan maybe perhaps you and the rest of us are a little worse off.

You also said that if you died in your sleep what good would sovereignty be for you. This type of thinking is also the essence of a slave mentality. I would ask you what about our future generations. Should they live as ignorant as we live today? Should they suffer racism as we are suffering racism today? Therefore, what about our future generation, do you not care about them? Your slave mentality has given you a selfish mind for your own people and future generation and you really do not know it.

Tell me what you think.

Greetings Joan, I think I am finally figuring this blog stuff out. So as I tried to follow all this I got a bit lost but what struck me was the positive energy you are trying to convey about who we are as a people and how we can move forward. For me that is important. In my book I shared my struggles trying to stay positive as I and others of my hue, face the daily insults , double standards etc. It is very straightforward but throughout concludes that it is our spirituality that must be tapped by Blacks as well as Whites to move forward. I am in a spiritual psychology masters program and am learning so much about how to apply spirituality to my life. But one of the things that science is proving is literally that love "calibrates" at a higher level than fear hate, etc. From one of the main sources of my study this individual has done a great deal of research on energy that comes from various attitudes and actions. Certain energy literally weakens the body and fear, hate etc are among those..so not only is love spiritual concept it is, from the studies this man has done, a scientific concept that is powerful. So I am trying to come from love in my life and as dr. King said it is not a sentimental notion but a notion of strength. I am a work in progress.
Love prayers and greetings

Hello Mr. Ewing,

Of all that Dr. King said up to his last speech, at the end of his last speech he said that God allowed him to go to the mountaintop. He said he looked over and he saw the Promise Land. He said that he may not get to the Promised Land with us, but we as a people are going to get to the Promised Land.

Now it is not so difficult to put Dr. King into a nutshell from beginning to end to understand what Dr. King was all about, mentally and his aspirations.

Dr. King wanted very much a different and better life for his people, Black Americans who are descendents of slaves. Coming to the end of his life, he saw that what he really wanted was sovereignty or complete independence from White America. Dr. King knew that our sovereignty would be on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders. Of course, we could then pursue life, liberty, happiness and prosperity in our own way since it was White America that he was always up against to bring a better life for his own people. Dr. King realized that it was time that Black Americans have their hands on the wheel of our own destiny. Of course that meant we must have our own and that is what the Promised Land indicated. Please goggle his last speech and read it.

Why is that so difficult for you and others to understand?

What say you?

QUOTE:"the positive energy you are trying to convey about who we are as a people and how we can move forward."

Yes Tod. So much energy and potential seems to get sapped up into fear, hate, distrust, envy, jealousy, revenge, etc. that when people tap back into their positive emotions...lives CHANGE and LIFE takes on a robust response each and every day!
I taught my class today this concept of DEMOCRACY:
"Democracy does not argue that all persons have a right to an equal share of worldly goods. It argues for equality of OPPORTUNITY and equality before the LAW."

Jefferson once said, "Eternal VIGILANCE is the price of LIBERTY"

I translate that to say "FREEDOM is a CHOICE in the 21st Century"!

WE CAN DO THIS!

Hello Ms. Joan,

Let me start by saying that I know I cannot stop you and Mr. Ewing from talking nonsense. Much of Black Americans have an abstract mind. We could not figure out how to get out of a wet paper bag.

Both of you know that the stuff you all are talking about is intangible and nonsense. Black Americans needs something tangible in their lives and that is to have something of our own collectively speaking as a country of our own.

I know that the both of you thinks that you are not subjugated people and that only the other Blacks a subjugated. Somehow, you all are the special Blacks. The both of you look at yourself as intelligent people and White America and the rest of the world know that we are not anything.

Dr. King not only did he possessed a doctorate degree but he also had common sense. 99.9% of Black Americans do not have common sense. Dr. King knew that all Black Americans including himself needed to have physical freedom, physical sovereignty, that is something tangible.

Ms. Joan eternal vigilance is the price of liberty means that the price of liberty is always being on the lookout as well as being prepared to protect your liberty from others. Your translation that freedom is a choice in the 21st century is totally off key to what Jefferson said. Thomas Jefferson was not only intelligent he had common sense and he knew the difference of having a country and not having a country of his own

We are a far way from being the people we will become. However, God will transform us into being a new people that we will become and that is mentally speaking.

I know what is going to happen with us. I am the way, and besides me, there is no other way for Black Americans ever to become a real people in this world.

The lessons that "I' have passed on to my children and grandchildren are these two things. Never give up your direct cultural ties with Africa. Read and read and then read some more.(smile)

It is just too bad that some people have no use for listening to anyone but themselves. Logic is so correct when it states that those who will not step into the shoes of others in order to see things from their view point have only their own ignoracne to go by.(smile)

thanks Joan E...YES WE CAN...

So sorry, if I in any way caused you to believe I even give you a second thought...I do know that you are not one of my children nor one of my grandchildren...so stop trying to make yourself a part of my family or my life...but, then this is on you not me.(smile)And, as by now you know how much i detest anyone who depends on others for their needs then if you were one of my children or family or personal friends, I would disown you...when you get something of your own and stop trying to ge others to do for you then we can maybe deal on the same level...

Hi sister Joan E...this is Harry's leadership by example when he refuses to call you a female. I know this because he did the same thing with me.but, at least he spelled you name correctly and did not call you a male(so far.Smile)

Now, here is something very interesting and it may be why Harry can not seem to help himself in trying to go against each and every blogger on this site while using their own post to accomplish this...on Siebra's My Thoughts On Black Leadership, Harry said this,"I AM THE WAY"

I mention this because maybe now Harry has promoted himself as__________maybe?("I" am not smiling)

Thank you sister Joan E. Slowly BUT surely we(ON THIS SITE) seem to be able to get Harry to open his mind up to someone else's truth. example. Harry was saying that his land would cover all of North carolina...

Harry seen to have changed his mind / or is listening to you about taking the land in North Carolina, after my telling him up front, N. C. will not happen as I know my youngest daughter will allow no one to take her land in that state.(smile)I did not even go into it with Harry how the government has tried and failed to take land from any and all or my family members(by taxing us out) without any signs of success.LOL

Joan E. land to my family is like it is in yours...PURE PRIDE and an example of how far we have come as a people who want the future even better for our children and their children and their children...

This is where I got my first job working in the tobacco grown by my uncleon his lands. Now that they need less help than in the past because of technology, my family have changed with the times and once again adjusted, but we have not sold any of our family's lands.(smile)

I have lived in Ca. for about 30 years now, but Harry did get the idea that my daughter would not allow anyone to take that land and it is not allowed for me or anyone else to sell...and, they keep saying that Black people can not plan...YES WE CAN... LOV YA.

Joan E, thank you, thank you, thank you. I have mentioned this on this site before about Napolean not wanting any parts of those Blacks who believed that this man would be coming back to do to him in America what he had done to him in Haiti, but, I could not remember his name and was in no mood to go search all of those books I still have from my major in African and Africian American study to find his name(please note the African and African-American.LOL)....now I will record his name and this site just given by you so I can always have it handy...

I was proud learning what we were able to learn about our race and culture back when we had black history week...you should see me now.(smile) I feel so good when I sign an official document asking me what was my first language and I put under the threat of purjury...EBONIC. lov ya always...

WE BAD....
