Here are my answers:

1. Forgiveness, is it really good for the soul?
Yes

2. If so why?
It is a freedom within a cleansing if you will.

3. If not, why not?
*

4. When should you forgive?
When the person is truthful in asking for forgiveness.

5. Should you forgive someone who has not asked for
forgiveness?
No.

6. Are there things that are unforgivable?
Yes.

7. Is it a sin not to forgive?
Since sin is the transgression of God's law, it would be a sin not to forgive if the person is justified and asked in the spirit of truth to be forgiven.

8. If you forgive, why not forget?
To make sure you have learned from the experience.

9. Is repeat forgiveness to the same person a weakness on the forgiving persons part?
Yes, the weakness is a forgiving heart from the forgiver that needs to be developed into operating from justice with the repeat offender.

10. What does it mean to forgive?
Bottom line to have a free spirit; To show mercy when mercy is not necessarily due and to receive mercy when mercy may not be due to you.

1. Forgiveness, is it really good for the soul?

WHEN YOU SPEAK OF FORGIVENESS THEN YOU HAVE DELIBERATELY, WILLFULLY DONE SOMETHING THAT YOU FELT THAT WAS WRONG AND YOU KNEW IT WAS WRONG BEFORE YOU DID IT BUT YOU DID IT ANYWAYS YOU DID NOT CARE AT THAT TIME WHETHER IT WAS RIGHT OR WRONG YOU JUST WANTED TO FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF.

ONE CASE IN POINT IS ROBERT POWELL WHO COMES HERE EVERYDAY ATTACKING THE SISTERS AND HAS YET TO SAY HE'S SORRY.

2. If so why?

WELL THAT DEPENDS ON ONE'S DEFINITION OF 'SOUL'.

3. If not, why not?

4. When should you forgive?

WHEN YOU KNOW THAT YOU HAVE TRANGRESSED.

5. Should you forgive someone who has not asked for forgiveness?

WELL AT MY STAGE BLACK PEOPLE ARE SICK (AND I DO MEAN MENTALLY SICK) AND THERE ARE TIMES WHEN WE MUST FORGIVE THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT IN THERE RIGHT STATE OF MIND. BUT WE SHOULD NOT FORGIVE PEOPLE WHO APOLOGIVE BUT NEVER CORRECT THE WRONG THEY ARE DOING.

6. Are there things that are unforgivable?

YES WHEN YOU KNOW BETTER AND YOU DO IT ANYWAY THEN YOU HAVE BECOME A DEVIL.

7. Is it a sin not to forgive?

AINT NO SUCH THING AS SIN IN MY BOOK BUT HOW ABOUT LEVELS OF HUMAN EXISTENCES.

8. If you forgive, why not forget?

I FORGIVE BUT I DONT FORGET AND I DO GET EVEN.

9. Is repeat forgiveness to the same person a weakness on the forgiving persons part?

YOU CAN BETCHA IT IS

EXAMPLE: YOUR HUSBAND WHOOPS YOUR ASS NOT 1 TIME BUT 10 THEN YOU ARE A FOOL FOR STAYING AFTER THE FIRST TIME. IF A SISTER PUTS HER HANDS ON ME THEN SHE DONT NEED ME AND THATS UNFORGIVABLE.

10. What does it mean to forgive?

I DONT FORGIVE I GIVE JUSTICE.

Truth B. Told
Thank you for your feedback. Truth B. you raised a very good point in your answer to Question #9: Is repeat forgiveness to the same person a weakness on the forgiving persons part?

And it is very much a weakness on the forgiving person's part if we forgive people who have apologized but they never correct the wrong they are doing. In my opinion that person who has apologized but refuses to correct the wrong they have done is narcissitic and they need to be given the ax out of your life immediately.

1. Forgiveness, is it really good for the soul?
Yes, forgiveness is good for the soul.

2. If so why?
I think that forgiveness is important to bring about an understanding, accepting and moving forward for yourself. In an everyday sense, it means I don't hold on to negative emotions, just acknowledge/take a mental note and let it go as forgiving is not forgetting.

4. When should you forgive?
I think you should forgive when you realize it's better to live without that hate on your heart. When you don't forgive, the bitterness only eats at you inside. I know it sounds like a cliche but it is true. I can relate because I generally have difficulty forgiving myself and others, however I do it for my sake mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It's all a part of learning and growing. It doesn't mean you have to agree with what they did. Even though you may never be close and/or trust that person again, you can find peace within yourself.

5. Should you forgive someone who has not asked for forgiveness?
No. We teach people how to treat us and if you continue to forgive people for things that they really and truly are not seeking forgiveness for, you're going to find yourself constantly getting the short end of the stick. If you are notorious for always being "the forgiving person" others have no incentive to change THEIR evil and vindictive ways. Someone who takes advantage of us in anyway i.e manipulative family members, difficult work colleagues, that friend or family who always borrows money and never pays it back; all fall under that category. I think we all know when someone is taking advantage of us over and over again. We can love and help people without letting them take advantage of us.

6. Are there things that are unforgivable?
Yes, such as unjustified police shootings, murder of children, domestic violence, and rape/s*xual abuse.

7. Is it a sin not to forgive?
No. Nobody can make you do what you don't want to do.

8. If you forgive, why not forget?
Because forgiveness does not mean tolerance of repeat offenses, nor does it mean preventing people from facing the criminal justice system.

9. Is repeat forgiveness to the same person a weakness on the forgiving persons part?
Yes. As with most of scripture, some pastors/spiritual advisors may feel that forgiving a person leaves you venerable, especially if you are passively familiar with "turn the other cheek" or "forgive those who persecute you." Some know that this is not the complete passage nor the true meaning, but for those who do not study, it reads as if Jesus is saying "love them while they kick your ass." The Word of God does say forgive, BUT there is NOTHING in the Word that says, be a fool!

10. What does it mean to forgive?
According to the Webster's Dictionary, to forgive is;
1.to grant pardon for or remission of (an offense, debt, etc.); absolve.
2.to give up all claim on account of; remit (a debt, obligation, etc.).
3.to grant pardon to (a person).
4.to cease to feel resentment against: to forgive one's enemies.
5.to cancel an indebtedness or liability of.

Simply put, forgiveness is returning to God the right to take care of justice.
